Coaching, Mentoring and Training for Transforming Dialogue
I help experienced clergy, non-profit leaders, mediators and other professionals to expand their impact and effectiveness by teaching them to facilitate group dialogues on complex issues that divide organizations and communities.
Years ago, I was working as a mediator and therapist but I was frustrated with the impact I could have and the income I could generate. I changed professions when I discovered the power of dialogue to transform broken relationships and communities. I transferred my knowledge and skills to designing, facilitating and training others to lead dialogue on differences rooted in identity, values, religion and world-views. Drawing on 28 years of dialogue practice and teaching, I can help you leverage and expand your skills to design and facilitate dialogues that can have lasting impacts in your organization and beyond.
We are living in deeply divided times.
Communities of faith, non-profits, cities and towns -even families- are torn. Many clergy, mediators and other professionals want to expand their skills to help organizations that are in crisis over political, religious or identity differences: conflicts that cannot be resolved through mediation. Others want to have a bigger impact on society but are limited in their reach by the nature of their work. While traditional approaches of "conflict resolution" are often not useful in these situations, there is a way to help people deepen their understanding, restore trust and work constructively together through the power of dialogue.
You Can Make an Impact
In this mentoring, training and group coaching program, you will work with me and a small group of learners to develop your internal resources, acquire the skills and learn the art of facilitating dialogue among people who are divided by differences that cannot be "resolved" or mediated to agreement: core values, identities and world views. In the end, you will be able to design and facilitate dialogues for your own community of faith or organization and others that are in crisis or wish to prevent it.
